Challenge: Digital fabrication promises to revolutionize the architecture industry. The seamless integration of digital technologies into the physical construction process makes it possible to realize completely new forms of architecture and can significantly increase both the efficiency of production and the sustainability of buildings. With the National Center of Competence in Research (NCCR) “Digital Fabrication”, established by ETH Zurich, Switzerland is taking on a leading role internationally in the development of digital construction. The NCCR needs a website that presents the area of research with its various research and training institutions in an attractive and informative way.
Solution: A vertical drop-down menu with a grid structure makes it possible to present various aspects of the topic in a large format. The clear menu structure makes it easy for the various internal and external stakeholders (involved researchers, participating universities, architects, Swiss industrial companies, politicians, media and potential MSA students) to find the information that they need quickly and easily.
Result: The sleek, functional design of the website reflects the modern, digital world of architecture and provides a quick overview of the NCCR’s latest and most interesting activities. At the same time, various stakeholder groups can find a wide range of information on their areas of interest.
