A place to find yourself in the middle of a mall

Challenge: The Sihlcity Church is the first Swiss chapel located inside of a mall. The project, organized by the Reformed, Catholic and Christian Catholic Churches in Switzerland, intends to build on the success of the Station Church at Zurich Main Station and the Airport Chaplaincy at Zurich Airport. The chapel serves as an oasis of calm that allows visitors to draw their strength to face the day. The brand design needs to highlight the unique nature of this small institution in the midst of a large shopping environment.

Solution: The blue square in the logo symbolizes the large buildings of the Sihlcity complex. The small white space in the middle symbolizes the small yet central oasis of calm that the Sihlcity Church offers visitors. The slogan “Stop in. Find strength.” conveys the church’s services.

Result: The sleek, streamlined brand design clearly sets the church apart from the other offerings in the Sihlcity mall and conveys the sense of tranquility and peace that the Sihlcity Church represents.
